Cardiff Bus have finally launched their “Oyster”-like smartcard scheme, where you can pay for your bus journeys upfront and use the credit by swiping your card.

Cardiff Bus, being one of the only bus services we know that still operate an “exact change only” policy, this will make a world of difference and mean not having to continually carry around pocketfuls of change.

When you order your card online it comes pre-loaded with £3 credit, enough for 2x single journeys or 1x day-to-go (all day travel) pass within Cardiff.

Happy travelling!

£12.50 instead of £32.50 for a feast for two, including four tapas plates, bread, salad, nachos, a bottle of wine, desserts and coffee at the wonderful Pretence Café and Bar – Save 62%

I can honestly say I’ve never heard of Pretence Café, but it’s on Whitchurch Road and has favourable write-ups on review websites, including;

Spent the night at Prentece, really chilled, relaxed. Really good warm atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you fancy a hassle free relaxed evening.

The Groupon deal is most definitely a bargain and I’ve already bought one for myself.

Bellini’s Express opened earlier this year in the St David’s shopping centre’s Eastside food quarter, next to Yo! Sushi, building on their repertoire of restaurants in Cardiff city centre and the Bay – with other restaurants in the group such as Signor Valentino and Demiros.

Their website currently has a voucher valid until 30th September for 2-4-1 on any pizza or pasta dish, so this is a good excuse to check out the newest addition to the chain.

Ah Haveli, we haven’t been yet but have been meaning to for a long time. Groupon are selling a voucher today at £19 for a three-course dinner for two which is a massive bargain. We can honestly say we’ve only heard good things.
They claim that Jay-Z has dined there, I guess stranger things have happened, but it’s a little strange that this is one of the “highlights” of the restaurant.

Zero Degrees have emailed out a voucher today to mailing list subscribers containing a voucher good for 2 courses and a drink.

The microbrewery on Westgate Street is one of our favourites here at Cardiff Deals, their food is of excellent quality and portion size – we recommend the mango tandoori chicken pizza.
The beer, all brewed on-site is awesome, try the mango beer, but don’t overdo it, it’s very sweet and heavy – you have been warned!

For £10.95 you can get any of the following dishes, but it’s pretty much the entire menu;

Main Course

Groupon’s deal for today is for a meal for two including wine and cocktails at the Park House club, on Park Place.

Normally a members-only club, the Park House boasts a chef who is Michelin awarded and a renowned mixologist (is that even a word?).

Begin with a pre-starter (£5), and then a starter like the twice-baked goat’s cheese souffle with poached red pears and and baby leaf spinach (£10) to whet your appetite before your main course. We suggest trying the braised shin of Welsh beef with horseradish mash, thyme and honey roasted root vegetables (£35). Of course, accompany your dishes with a well rounded large glass of wine (£6) each. Finally, saturate those taste buds with something sweet and devour a delish dessert such as an apple tarte tatin with vanilla ice cream and spiced cinnamon anglaise or maybe a selection of freshly made ice creams and sorbets (£9).
