Today’s Groupon in Cardiff is for two people to eat at the All You Can Eat buffet at Little Tiger, formerly known as Ivory Tiger, which is on Churchill Way.

We went there when it was Ivory Tiger, back last summer, and the food was alright. I have not been to Cosmo, but friends who were with me that have said that it was similar to that, but the food wasn’t quite as good, and the selection was narrower.

Despite that, I think that £4.80 each is a total bargain and is definitely worth a shot.

Gio’s is one of the last remaining independently owned restaurants in Cardiff city centre.
The food is spectacular, the service second to none and the history just adds to it. Well known for being one of the best, you cannot go wrong with this Groupon, if you haven’t been there before or if you have and want to go back.

If you live in Cardiff and have never been to Gio’s, use this as your excuse – everyone has to see how great locally run businesses can be, over the chains.

Swirlz opened in December of last year off of the burgeoning success of cupcake sales as their sister establishment (currently undergoing renovation) “Central Park Café”.

Sometimes I think that we neglect the outer areas of Cardiff, particularly the North which has some great restaurants, my favourite being Villagio’s in Whitchurch Village.

Groupon have an offer on today to pay just £16 for £40 worth of food at “Mediterraneo in the Village”, we haven’t been there but it got an awesome write-up in the South Wales Echo, so we may just try it.

We know, not technically a Cardiff deal but it’s not far out and we’ve been there and know how spectacular it is. Plus, this is a total bargain, one of the best Groupon offers yet.

This deal gets you:
> an opportunity to golf an 18-hole mature parkland course
> a coffee and bacon sandwich upon arrival
> access to their practice range
> replenish yourself with a two-course Chef’s Special meal and non-alcoholic drink
> full use of the other spa and leisure facilities

What it doesn’t say is if rental of golf clubs is included, so we’ll assume it’s not while we wait for a response from Groupon.

Even without golf club rental this is a total bargain and you should definitely think about getting it.

Groupon have a one-day deal at Fwrrwm Ishta in Machen (just outside Caerphilly), a restaurant that we have heard much about and will relish the chance to buy up this offer and try it.

“Start with the Sartu, a rustic Italian beef and chicken liver pie, baked with a risotto crust (£5.75). Meanwhile our date revels in the Szechuan pork, a confit pork belly, crispy fried and served with a bombenette of prawn stir fry, coated with Szechuan sauce (£5.95). Then we move on to a chicken dish each: An escalope of British veal “Cordon Bleau”, with tomato and shallot fondue and fresh asparagus (£12.95) as well as the corn fed chicken supreme served with a wild mushroom and chicken ravioli with a ragu of girolle mushrooms (£13.95).” Groupon says…

I can honestly say I’ve never heard of Pretence Café, but it’s on Whitchurch Road and has favourable write-ups on review websites, including;

Spent the night at Prentece, really chilled, relaxed. Really good warm atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you fancy a hassle free relaxed evening.

The Groupon deal is most definitely a bargain and I’ve already bought one for myself.

Ah Haveli, we haven’t been yet but have been meaning to for a long time. Groupon are selling a voucher today at £19 for a three-course dinner for two which is a massive bargain. We can honestly say we’ve only heard good things.
They claim that Jay-Z has dined there, I guess stranger things have happened, but it’s a little strange that this is one of the “highlights” of the restaurant.

Groupon’s deal for today is for a meal for two including wine and cocktails at the Park House club, on Park Place.

Normally a members-only club, the Park House boasts a chef who is Michelin awarded and a renowned mixologist (is that even a word?).

Begin with a pre-starter (£5), and then a starter like the twice-baked goat’s cheese souffle with poached red pears and and baby leaf spinach (£10) to whet your appetite before your main course. We suggest trying the braised shin of Welsh beef with horseradish mash, thyme and honey roasted root vegetables (£35). Of course, accompany your dishes with a well rounded large glass of wine (£6) each. Finally, saturate those taste buds with something sweet and devour a delish dessert such as an apple tarte tatin with vanilla ice cream and spiced cinnamon anglaise or maybe a selection of freshly made ice creams and sorbets (£9).
